I am a mom raising two elementary school kids who love to travel.
Leaving the kids with my husband, I went on a trip to Sokcho with my friends and discovered a wonderful place.
Sokcho Au Verman (오베르망)
Three women went to Sokcho to chat up a storm—you know what they say about three women getting together!
There are so many great, pretty, delicious, and famous cafes in Sokcho—too many to list, haha.
The three of us searched hard on Naver and chose Sokcho Au Verman.
- A breathtaking ocean view is a given
- Hands down the #1 Myeongran (Pollack Roe) Baguette I’ve ever tasted
- Gorgeous photos that stayed as my profile picture for a long time
Those who know already know about this spot (since it's originally quite famous ;;;).
The floor-to-ceiling windows were so clean that the view felt even more vivid and refreshing~

I really want to go to Sokcho Au Verman right now ㅠ Because... I want to eat THIS!!!
They are famous for their Myeongran Baguette, but the Cheese Myeongran Baguette was the BEST.
All three of us agreed that the Cheese Myeongran Baguette was way more delicious~
Well, of course... it has cheese! You must try the Cheese Myeongran Baguette!
The opposite side of the ocean view offers a view of Mt. Seorak. Although Mt. Seorak is a bit far in the distance, haha.
The parking lot at Sokcho Au Verman was reasonably spacious, but it might get a bit tough to park when it's crowded on weekends~
Luckily, we had a super easy time parking ^^
Here are the options for traveling from the intercity/express bus terminals in Sokcho to Obermang.
Option 1: From Sokcho Intercity Bus Terminal (속초시외버스터미널)
- By Taxi (Recommended):
- Travel time: ~3–5 minutes
- Cost: Around 4,000–5,000 KRW
- Details: Taking a taxi is the fastest and most convenient option given the short distance.
- By City Bus:
- Travel time: ~10–15 minutes
- Route: Walk to the bus stop outside the terminal and take Bus No. 1-1 (Goseong-bound) towards the Jangsa-dong/Jangsa Port direction. Get off near Jangsa Port / Jangsa-dong (장사항 / 장사동) and walk about 3–5 minutes along the beach promenade to the cafe.
- On Foot:
- Walking time: ~15–20 minutes
- Details: You can walk straight towards the coast along Jangsa-hang Beach.
Option 2: From Sokcho Express Bus Terminal (속초고속버스터미널)
Sokcho Express Bus Terminal is situated further south in Sokcho (approx. 4.5 km away).
- By Taxi (Recommended):
- Travel time: ~10–15 minutes
- Cost: Around 7,000–9,000 KRW
- Details: Taking a taxi saves time as you traverse through the central area of Sokcho directly to the northern coast.
- By City Bus:
- Travel time: ~25–30 minutes
- Route: Take Bus No. 1 or 1-1 from the bus stop across from the Express Bus Terminal heading north (towards Sokcho Intercity Terminal / Goseong). Stay on the bus past the Intercity Terminal until you reach Jangsa Port / Jangsa-dong (장사항 / 장사동), then walk 3–5 minutes to Obermang

Obermang is a bakery cafe known for its ocean view along the Jangsa Port promenade.
